WORKERS' COMP · CLASS CODES

Workers' comp class codes, by industry.

A class code describes your business, not each job in it, and each code has its own rate per $100 of payroll. Office staff, outside salespeople and drivers can take codes of their own. Find your industry's codes: each page says what work the code covers, which pay counts and where it applies, with an estimate at your own rate.

Dental + veterinary

Veterinary practices take their own class, not 8832: in Minnesota, 8844 for small-animal clinics and 8845 for large or mixed practices. A page for them comes later. See dental + veterinary coverage

Staffing

Staffing has no code of its own. Under Minnesota's rule, a worker placed with a client takes the same class as the client's own employees doing similar work, so class codes are mapped per placement. See staffing coverage

Where codes differ

NCCI is the rating bureau in 35 states and DC, and the codes here follow its numbering. Eleven states have their own rating bureau, and in North Dakota, Ohio, Washington and Wyoming workers' comp comes from the state fund. Texas uses NCCI codes with its own loss costs, and leaves some out. Each code page says where it applies.

Who must carry it, state by state: workers' comp by state.

Worklio Insurance Services LLC is a licensed insurance agency. Its producer is licensed in all 50 states and DC, and the agency license is active in 6 states, with the rest applied for. See insurance licenses. Class code pages explain; your carrier and an advisor confirm your class codes.
